Infinity Mirror Room: Yayoi Kusama At The Broad, LA

Our Hotlist

A dazzlingly magical future materialised at the Infinity Mirrored Room of Japanese artist, Yayoi Kusama when we visited earlier this month. Exhibiting ‘The Souls of Millions of Light Years Away’ since 2015 at The Broad Infinity Room in Los Angeles, this installation is one of those “photo or it didn’t happen” moments — a truly aesthetically-pleasing display that you get 45 seconds to capture — we certainly made the most of it! It feels as though you’re in an alternate reality or floating in space. For artist, Yayoi Kusama, who experienced hallucinations due to mental illness, her various Infinity Mirrored Room installations straddle the line between representation and abstraction bringing into physical existence that which usually cannot be easily represented. For one of those one-of-a-kind memories, it’s definitely worth the visit.
